    To work alongside families and other key people in the young person’s life, to provide practical skills and strategies to support them to become successful in all aspects of their life.
    Our team of specialist occupational therapists and speech & language therapists are passionate about the work they do, and strive to create a friendly and welcoming environment.

    We work closely together with the families and other professionals already involved with the child or young person e.g. Government Agencies (Oranga Tamariki, High and Complex Needs, Intensive Wraparound Service, Mana Aki, Permanent Caregiver Support Services etc), Schools, Paediatricians, Social Workers and Psychologists.

    • Initial Consultations

      Initial free 30 minutes teletherapy/telephone consultation meeting with the parent/caregiver or the young adult themselves.

    • Individual Sessions

      Individual sessions are available to build on strengths and focus on key challenges.

    • Social Clubs

      Weekly clubs provide positive social connections with peers through a range of leisure activities and social outings.

    • Individual Sessions
      Individual speech & language and/or occupational therapy sessions are provided to support sensory, regulation, and social communication skills.
    • Kids Club & The Zone
      Weekly social and leisure groups. These groups encourage positive social connections and provide opportunities to connect with like-minded peers.
    • Resources
      Socially Speaking offers a range of workshops for parents, caregivers, and educators. These range from one hour to a whole day, and length can be tailored to meet the needs of the participants.
    • Workshops
      We can provide workshops for teachers, support staff and other professionals working with a range of ages e.g. primary, secondary and tertiary. We love to work alongside others to develop workshops that meet the needs of their young people.
    • My son has been attending Socially Speaking for quite a few years.
      During this time I have seen a huge change in his confidence and ability to approach everyday situations.
      Attending Socially Speaking has helped to give him tools to interact socially and to become more independent,
      that has given me hope for him to have a good future.
